Work with us!
We are deep in the process of converting a 70+ acre family horse ranch and alfalfa/hay farm to a carbon-sequestering agroforestry oasis, preserving increasingly rare agricultural land in Idaho's Wood River Valley. We are protecting the riparian corridor, providing wildlife habitat, and increasing the community’s food system resilience while striving for ecological and economic sustainability. We’ve planted a highly diverse multi-story crop system that includes more than 150 varieties of fruits, nuts, and other native, medicinal, and flowering plants in addition to a vegetable and cut flower garden.

Summary
We are experimenting this year with opening a few volunteer positions. If you have a passion for getting your hands in the dirt and have a few hours a month to contribute in exchange for some fresh veggies and flowers, check out our guidelines below.
Volunteer Shifts and Hours
Tuesday-Friday, generally mornings. Sorry, no weekend shifts at this point.
We have a schedule of when we work on which areas of the farm, so depending on your interests, we can discuss and make recommendations on which mornings you might enjoy the most.
Because training and managing volunteers takes significant time on our part, we ask you to commit to us just as we are committing to you:
We ask you to commit to a minimum of 2 consecutive hours per shift.
Please sign up for a minimum of 4-6 shifts per season.
More is welcome! :)
Benefits of volunteering
Satisfaction of knowing you are helping a new local farm get established and improving our community’s food security.
Experiential learning about chemical free gardening, permaculture, and regenerative agroforestry.
A full farm tour as part of your first shift.
Fresh veggies and cut flowers! Take home some of our overflow bounty at the end of each shift, in addition to 15% off unlimited farmer’s market and farm stand purchases.
Guardrails - to ensure a great experience all around!
Come ready to work - bring your hat, sunscreen, closed toed shoes, water, gloves, and anything else you need to have a productive shift.
Be able to bend, lift, and kneel for regular duties. If you have mobility or other special circumstances, contact us and we are happy to discuss options!
Please no dogs or children - if you have children and want them to experience the farm, we can discuss a tour outside of your regular volunteer shifts.
Let us know as far in advance as possible if you’re not going to be able to make your shift.
Come only when scheduled - this is our private residence so we don’t allow drop-ins.
If you have a friend who wants to volunteer with you, please ask them to reach out to us directly and we’re happy to schedule your shifts together to make it even more fun!
